What does AI call training cost for a customer service team?
The honest answer is that for most vendors you cannot know. In this category almost nobody publishes a price per agent per month. Zenarate, Second Nature, Hyperbound and Retorio all keep it private; Retorio's own pricing page refers you to its sales team for any figure.
What you can compare: the big contact centre platforms sit between 55 and 240 dollars per agent per month, and none of those packages include practice simulation. DojoBird starts at 29 euros per agent per month, with a free tier to start on and no minimum number of seats.
What do the vendors in this market charge?
Below you will only find figures that actually appear on a public vendor page or on AWS Marketplace. Where nothing was published, nothing is listed. We have not estimated a single figure, because an estimated price for a competitor is exactly the kind of mistake that makes a table like this worthless. Verified on 17 September 2026.
| Vendor | Built for | Published price | Practice simulation included? | Live assist during real calls? | Start on your own? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cresta | Customer service and sales | No per-agent price. Agent Assist is listed on AWS Marketplace at 150,000 dollars per year for up to 100,000 conversations | Yes, since July 2026, but without a published price | Yes (Agent Assist) | No |
| Observe.AI | Customer service | 828 dollars per agent per year on AWS Marketplace, so 69 dollars per month | No | Yes (Real-Time AI) | No |
| Zenarate | Customer service and sales | No price published | Yes | Yes (Live Agent Assist, in the Analyze module) | No |
| Second Nature | Mostly sales | No price published | Yes | Not mentioned | No |
| Hyperbound | Sales | Pricing page with three packages, without amounts | Yes | Yes (live call coaching) | Yes, free tier |
| Retorio | Mostly sales | No price published, per-user price on request | Yes | Not mentioned | No |
| PractAIce | Mostly sales | No price published | Yes | Not mentioned | Request a demo |
| Zendesk Suite Team | Customer service | 55 dollars per agent per month billed annually | No | Only as an add-on (Copilot, 50 dollars per agent per month) | Yes |
| Zendesk Suite Team plus Workforce Engagement | Customer service | 55 plus 50 is 105 dollars per agent per month | No, not in the add-on either | No, Copilot is a separate add-on | Yes |
| Genesys Cloud CX | Customer service | 75 to 240 dollars per user per month, depending on the package | No | Included in CX 4, otherwise via paid AI tokens | Not mentioned on the pricing page |
| Five9 Core | Customer service | 159 dollars per concurrent user per month, from 50 seats | No | Only as an add-on, price not published | No |
| DojoBird | Customer service, phone calls | From €29 per agent per month excl. VAT | Yes | Yes, in Practice + Live | Yes, free tier without a credit card |

Two notes on this table, or you end up comparing apples with oranges. Five9 charges per concurrent user rather than per agent, so that figure is higher than it looks if you think in agents. And the dollar figures are copied as published, without conversion, because an exchange rate in a table is out of date within a month.

Is the tool built for salespeople or for customer service?
Hardly any comparison mentions this difference, and it determines whether a tool is usable for your team.
The AI call training category is largely built for salespeople. Hyperbound literally calls itself AI sales coaching. Second Nature, Retorio, Yoodli and PractAIce serve both, but put sales first in their own navigation. Of the eight training vendors we checked, not one positions itself purely on customer service.
It is not just marketing. You practise a sales call on objections, call structure and closing. You practise a customer service call on de-escalating, listening, delivering bad news and procedures you need to know by heart. A scenario about a pricing objection does not help the agent who has an angry customer on the line about a double charge.
One nuance to know when you use this table: Observe.AI does mention sales, but means telesales inside the contact centre, not a B2B sales team. That is a different market from where Hyperbound and Second Nature sit.
Why does almost nobody publish a price?
Because the price differs per customer, and because a sales conversation gives the chance to match that price to what the customer can pay. That is a legitimate model, and for large implementations it is often the fairest one too.
But it has a cost that never shows up on the invoice. As a team lead with thirty agents you cannot work out for yourself whether something fits your budget. You first have to book a demo, then wait for a quote, and only then do you know whether the conversation was worth it. So we simply publish our price, even if a competitor can read from it what we charge.
What are you already paying, and what do you not get for it?
Most customer service teams already have a platform. That is the real comparison, not the one with the most expensive vendor in the market.
Take Zendesk. A team on Suite Team pays 55 dollars per agent per month. If you want quality monitoring and coaching on top, the Workforce Engagement module adds 50 dollars per agent per month. That is 105 dollars together. Those 105 dollars do not include a single practice session.
The same goes for Genesys and Five9. All three do quality monitoring and coaching afterwards, and offer in-call assistance, although at Zendesk and Five9 that is a paid add-on and at Genesys it is only included in the top package. None of the three lets an agent practise before the customer is on the line. That is not an omission on those vendors' part, it is a different budget: practice comes out of the training budget, not the contact centre budget.
What does DojoBird cost?
There is a free tier (Free) for up to 3 agents, with 5 sessions per agent per month included. No credit card needed.
On top of that there are two paid plans, billed per agent per month excluding VAT, each available as Base or Pro. Practice, for roleplay with AI customers, starts at €29 per agent per month excl. VAT for Base. Practice + Live, which adds live listening and coaching during real customer calls, starts at €69 per agent per month excl. VAT for Base. Annual billing gives you two months free, and there is no minimum number of agents: you can start with one.
Current prices, including the Pro variants, are on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Why are dollars and euros mixed together?
Because we copy the figures as the vendor publishes them. Zendesk, Genesys, Five9, Cresta and Observe.AI publish in dollars, we publish in euros. Converting would make the table look more precise than it is, because the exchange rate changes and the published price does not.
Can I use a sales roleplay tool for customer service?
Technically yes, in practice it disappoints. The scenarios, the scoring criteria and the examples are about selling: objections, call structure, closing. A customer service team practises different things, like de-escalating, delivering bad news and procedures that match your own knowledge base. You can bend a sales tool, but then you are building yourself what it does not include.
How current are these figures?
All figures were checked on 17 September 2026 on the vendor's public page or on AWS Marketplace. Almost none of those pages carry a date themselves, so treat them as a snapshot and check a figure again before you base a decision on it.
Why is there no minimum listed for some vendors?
Because they do not publish one. That does not mean there is no minimum. Only Five9 names one: fifty seats.
What does it cost if we only want to practise and not have live coaching?
Then you pick Practice, from €29 per agent per month excl. VAT for Base. That plan covers only roleplay with AI customers. Live coaching during real customer calls sits in the more expensive plan, Practice + Live. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Is there a minimum number of agents at DojoBird?
No. You can start with one agent, and with three on the free tier.
