How do you let your customer service team practise calls with AI?

You have agents call an AI that plays the customer. It is a real phone conversation, with voice, interruptions and emotion, and they get feedback on what they did the moment it ends. With DojoBird this happens in the browser, with no phone system integration and nothing to install.

Most teams are practising within fifteen minutes. You create an account, invite your agents and pick a scenario. The free plan lets you practise with three agents.

Why practising with AI works where roleplay with a colleague stalls

Roleplay with a colleague has three problems everyone recognises and nobody fixes. The colleague is too nice, because they have to sit next to you again tomorrow. The team lead has no time to run it every week. And practising in front of the group is uncomfortable for most people, so the agent who needs it most is the one who keeps quiet.

An AI customer has none of those problems. It does not get tired, does not judge, is slightly different every time and is available whenever it suits the agent. Mistakes cost nothing, and that is exactly what it takes for people to dare to practise.

How it works in four steps

    • 1. Pick a scenario, or let the AI generate one based on your own situation.
    • 2. Call the AI customer. A real voice conversation, not a chat.
    • 3. Get feedback and a score straight after the call, plus the full transcript.
    • 4. Redo the call that went wrong. Repetition is where the gains are.

Your own knowledge base steers the practice

Generic call training teaches people general communication tips. That is of little use when the customer is calling about your returns policy or your outage procedure. In DojoBird you feed the system your own knowledge base and your own do's and don'ts. They steer both the scenario and the feedback.

The goal is not for the agent to recite a line. Customers can tell straight away when someone is reading from a script. The goal is that they know what to do, and then say it in their own words.

That knowledge base does not stand still. Questions that come up in real customer calls are added to it, and the practice scenarios change with it. We call that the DojoLoop: what an agent runs into live becomes their next training.

What to look for when choosing software

    • Is it a real voice conversation or a chat exercise? Holding a conversation and typing one are different skills.
    • Does the speech recognition hold up with accents and industry jargon?
    • Is the feedback about behaviour, or does the agent just get a script to repeat?
    • Where are recordings and transcripts stored, and what does the data processing agreement say about it?
    • Can you load your own knowledge base and guidelines, or is it generic training?
    • Does it need to be integrated with your phone system? That is often the reason these projects take months.

    Frequently asked questions

How quickly can my team start practising?

Usually within fifteen minutes. DojoBird is a browser application: you create an account, invite your agents and get going. There is nothing to install and no phone system integration is needed.

    Which languages does it support?

DojoBird currently supports English and Dutch, for both the AI customer and the feedback.

Do I need to integrate it with my phone system?

No. DojoBird runs alongside your existing telephony in a browser tab. That is a deliberate choice, because a telephony integration is usually the longest and most expensive part of a project like this.

    What does it cost?

There is a free plan (Free) for up to 3 agents, with 5 sessions per agent per month included. On top of that there are two paid plans, billed per agent per month excluding VAT, each available as Base or Pro. Practice, for roleplay with AI customers, starts at €29 per agent per month excl. VAT for Base, with Pro priced higher. Practice + Live, which adds live listening and coaching during real customer calls, starts at €69 per agent per month excl. VAT for Base, again with Pro priced higher. Annual billing gives you two months free. Current prices are on the pricing page.

    Where are the calls stored?

Account data, transcripts and recordings are stored in the EU (Frankfurt). DojoBird is a Dutch company and processes personal data under the GDPR. Part of the real-time speech processing runs through sub-processors in the United States, covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. No sub-processor uses customer data to train its own models.
